This beautiful rosé is from the heart of Provence in Southern France. In the glass it shows off its stunning salmon color. Notes of citrus and tropical zest and lip-smacking acidity are matched up perfectly with its lengthy notes of peach, apricot, fresh cut watermelon, red berries and honeysuckle. This wine specifically, we enjoyed on our travels in Europe!! We are SO excited to see it available in the US. Definitely a must try!!
Domaine La Blaque is located in the heart of the exclusive AOP "Pierrevert" in the town of Pierrevert, near Manosque in the heart of authentic Provence, in the south of the Alpes de Haute-Provence. The vines are located between 420 and 550 meters above sea level, in the foothills of the Luberon.
The microclimate, the diversity of the soils and the orientation of the vineyard are optimal. The sunshine of almost 320 days a year, as well as the extreme variations between day and night (due to altitude) are very favorable to the maturity of the grape. This context makes it possible to start harvesting at the end of September, which is rather rare in the south of France. The soils are of clay-limestone nature, with a great variability ranging from chalky limestone soils to heavier clay soils. These are excellent conditions for a Mediterranean viticulture.
