2019 Casas Patronales Carménère Reserva: Maule Valley, Chile

Tasting Notes

Deep purple red in color with aromas of fresh black fruits, cherries, black pepper and chocolate. On the palate, the wine shows great structure, very soft tannins, with notes of black plums, tobacco and a soft toasted nuance integrated with the fruit on the finish. This wine is fresh and young while still showcasing a deep, moody character. Pair with beef Carne Asada to enhance the smoky, black pepper flavors of the Carménère or try herb crusted lamb with a mushroom sauce for more of an earthy, savory complexity.

Winery Details

“We are a cohesive, professional and committed team at every stage of the process. We love what we do. And we are fully aware that being at the table of our consumers is a commitment to excellence.

Our story begins in 1990, when 3 good friends decide to plant their first vineyards in the family fields. Then, in 2001, they began a process of renovation and expansion of an old winery, introducing high-tech equipment to produce noble wines that represent the quality of our vineyards. In January 2003, Casas Patronales begins its commercialisation in Chile and the world.

Las Antiguas Casas Patronales or farmhouses, a reflection of the purest traditions of the Chilean countryside, have inspired the name of the Bodegas, such as Casas Patronales. Located in the Maule Valley -specifically in the San Clemente area- they received the best products harvested in the countryside. Subsequently, what was not consumed in the manor houses was sold locally. Thus began the deep-rooted tradition that only the best grapes reach Casas Patronales.”  - Casa Patronales
