Winery Details
Sylvain Champigny of Domaine de Lallay is highly regarded as one of the top Chinon producers, while still remaining one of the best kept secrets, until now! These vines have been held by four generations of the same family. This wine is made with grapes from vines that are between 70 and 80 years old, and grown in the most coveted clay-gravel soil of the appellation; these old family vines have survived the years while keeping their characteristics.
The age of the vines and the transition from generation-to-generation help create this wine, and is the perfect representation of the Domaine’s lineage, or lignée by this beautiful Grand Cru of Chinon. This wine is also regarded as a vin de garde, or a wine that can be aged well for a long time.
