Tasting Notes

Big, bold, and full of depth. The wine showcases with intense ruby color with violet hints The oak barrel has given this rich blend of Aragonez, Syrah and Touriga Nacional both body and concentration. Its black-fruit flavors offer a powerful character to a wine that has a firm structure to balance the ripe fruitiness. Enjoy with a grilled red meats, pasta, game and soft cheeses.

Winery Details

Casa Relvas, owner of Ciconia, was born from the desire to continue the history of a family linked to the land over five generations, on two continents. This family project was started in 1997 in São Miguel de Machede, in Redondo, by Alexandre Relvas, who saw in Herdade de São Miguel the vast horizons of his roots in Africa. The passion for the Alentejo and the respect for its unique and so genuine nature led to the first step being the typical afforestation of cork oak forests.

Located in Redondo, the 35ha of vineyards were planted in clayey loam soils derived from schist and surrounded by a cork oak forest. At Herdade de São Miguel, the main varieties planted are Alicante Bouschet, Trincadeira, Aragonez, and Touriga Nacional.
