2016 Château Rocher Corbin ‘Les Promesses’ Montagne Saint-Émilion: Bordeaux, France

$23.00 $26.00

Tasting Notes

A beautiful Saint-Émilion that totes a brilliant ruby color, with a delicate and inviting nose of red fruit nuances indicating blackberries, cherries, delicate wild strawberries and subtle hints of spices, licorice, and torrefaction. On the palate the wine boasts a harmonious structure and exquisite freshness that dances on the tongue. A very tasty wine to share among friends with hardy cheeses and fresh baguette or to enjoy over a homecooked meal.

Winery Details

Château Haut Lavigne was created by Nadia Lusseau in 2002 when she took over 8.5 hectares of vineyards in the Cotes de Duras. The vineyard is made up of 4 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon plus 4.5 hectares of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Cotes de Duras is located approximately 100 kilometers from the Atlantic and benefits from the ocean air while enjoying less rain, and therefore more sunshine, than appellations further to the west. Nadia’s viticultural approach results in top quality fruit and her winemaking allows for a true expression of terrior. She has been farming organically since 2005 and is working toward certification. Nadia Lusseau represents a younger generation of women winemakers working in France whose informed approach and deft touch are yielding outstanding results.
