2020 Nicolas Boudeau ‘Jacquets’ Brouilly: Beaujolais, France

$20.99

Tasting Notes

Gamay – another favorite grape varietal of ours, and rightly so! Gamay is one of the most widely grown grape varietals in the world. Finding a good gamay isn’t hard, but finding a quality Gamay, well- that’s what we’re here for. In the glass, it pours a deep ruby color. Bright pink floral aromas with a touch of spice on the nose with a blend of red and black fruits on the palate. Strawberry, blackberry, cherry and currants. Chewy mouthfeel, delicate tannins and a racy flesh, this wine radiates beautifully!! We highly recommend trying this wine! Pair this with pan seared pork and asparagus or your favorite pasta and meat sauce dish.

Winery Details

“I was born in the heart of Cognac. I did my viticultural studies at the Lycée de l'Oisellerie in Angoulême, then fell in love with the terroirs of Beaujolais in 1999.

After several years of salaried activities in different areas of the region, I made my 1st wines in 2007 with small vineyard of 4 ha at Jacquets in Odenas. Over the years, I am expanding my plots in Brouilly and Beaujolais-Villages.

Currently my farm consists of 10ha including 8.5ha in Brouilly, 0.5ha in Côte de Brouilly and 1ha in Beaujolais-Villages. My work in sustainable farming and traditional wine-making helps give wines balance, aromatic power and a nice freshness.

‘Of a formidable and imperturbable calm, he follows his guideline and advances tirelessly. During winemaking, he transmits this tranquility to his wines characterized by a powerful velvetiness.’” – Nicolas Doudeau
