Tasting Notes

This wine is a perfect representation of the terroir with its earthy and mineral-driven nose, which leads way into notes of cedar and graphite. Dark ruby in color, the palate consists of dark fruits, graphite, and bright, rich berries, pomegranate and cranberry. Yeah, this really paints the picture of the incredible effort in making this wine and a beautiful showcase of Cabernet Franc! Kick back, and enjoy a nice big glass. Winery Details

Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil is the “Saint Emilion” of the Loire Valley, with Damien Bruneau producing what many consider to be the “Grands Crus”. Since 2010, Damien’s wines have become highly acclaimed and receiving many awards and medals. More importantly, this specific wine received 2 stars in the Hachette Guide, which is the current “Wine Bible” in France, and has a similar weight in rating like Michelin Stars for restaurants. There’s so much to say about Damien Bruneau and his wine, including the fact that his grapes are grown with HVE classification to ensure the wines are produced organically and biodynamically; this wine is aged in large oak barrels, or Barriques; the wine filtered through fossilized crustaceous rich earth to ensure the terroir remains represented in this wine…the list goes on. Vinification: The grapes are grown organically at the highest level to maintain biodiversity in the vineyards. The grapes are sorted in the vineyard, harvested using traditional methods, and sorted again in the cellar. The grapes are destemmed, macerated and fermented using thermoregulated vats over 18 to 30 days.

Aging: Aged in a mix of old and new French oak barrels over 3 to 4 months.
