2018 Championship Bottle ‘Hard Promises’ Pinot Blanc: Willamette Valley, Oregon

$23.00 $25.00

Tasting Notes

Pinot Blanc is a cypher of a grape, so versatile that it reveals a lot about what a winemaker values.  It’s capable of being turned into wines across the stylistic spectrum, from pleasant, innocuous quaffers to broad, rich showy wines and everything in between.  Rarely, though, is it presented like it is here! Steely, bright, and rich with minerality with just enough texture to elevate the wine. Notes of preserved lemon cream, light spices and wet gravel leading to a dry finish. Due to the long fermentation and extended élevage in barrels, this wine shows lots of layers of complexity. Remarkable!

Winery Details

Championship Bottle is a winery working in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, inspired by the wines of Friuli in northeast Italy. Oregon’s cool climate and the unique soils of the Willamette Valley allows them to produce (mostly white) wine with texture, bright minerality and elegant acidity.
